Originally invented during the second world war to prevent tears in allied parachutes, ripstop fabric lives up to its name with a tight, uniform weave that included heavier weft yarns at regular intervals, effectively halting potential tears in their tracks. Sure, there’s a ton of technical benefits, but we think the look and texture are a real thing of beauty.
